This automatic shut off valve has 1/2'' male x 1/2'' female connections with a tapered plug . Once fitted to the inlet of an appliance, it will eliminate the risk of gas leaks should the gas supply be broken downstream. The valve is able to detect any sudden increase in the gas flow and then will shut off the supply to the appliance, it will not release again until the problem has been rectified and the gas flow drops back to normal (mbar's may vary on appliances).
